How can someone get over something so traumatic,
A life nearly ended in front of my eyes?
It’s not every day the one you love the most,
At his own hand nearly dies.
There are so many emotions I am trying to filter,
But something within me is still off kilter.
Now the family is dealing with an event so tragic,
Though out of my control,
I wish I could blink it away like magic.
Consumed with so many different emotions,
Anger, devastation, guilt and even fear.
The easy answer is to leave,
And that is all I seem to hear.
But no one really understands,
Unless you walk in my shoes.
I have seen love overcome many obstacles,
I know in my heart this is true.
We will figure this out,
And get our family back on track.
Emotions and hearts will mend in time,
Even when they are damaged and cracked.
