Profile
D. Othniel Forte
I was born and raised in Liberia, West Africa, for the initial part of my life. My family, like many others, had to flee my country when the crisis broke out decades ago. But through all my time in exile, the traditional folklore my Grandmother, Mom and Dad told me kept me close to home. Eventually I began making up new ones or filling in the gaps of some that I could not remember.
I was spurred on in this vein when I began educating others, I noticed that many others did not remember or know these stories and most of the seniors had passed away and carried with them this treasure of knowledge. So I began collecting those I could and making up new ones in the hope of storing and sharing them with the younger generation.
Currently, my family and I reside in Ratchaburi, Thailand, but I have studied and worked in several parts of Asia for several years now. I am an educator, a writer, and a social commentator.
